Behind the Scenes
Jogging Girls

Just starting out?

If you are: healthy, able to swim, run and have a bike (and helmet) you can do a triathlon!

It's not possible to cover everything here, but the massive depth of expertise in the club is at your fingertips.  Answers to questions, advice, help and information on any aspect of triathlon is just a chat away...

Running

We recognise and highly respect the Couch to 5K programs and the global phenomenon of Parkrun.

We cannot think of a better way to start your running journey and once you feel confident doing 5km you can begin to expand and slowly increase distances.

Cycling

There are lots of things to consider for new cyclists.

But to start, a bike and a helmet is all you need!  Any bike will do so long as it is checked and safe to ride.  For longer rides and events road bikes are generally the most practical, progressing to time trial or triathlon specific bikes.

It is very important that the bike is the right size, but just as, if not more important, is that the bike is adjusted to fit you!  So for comfort and injury prevention, it is highly recommended that you have a "bike fit".

There are far too many aspects to bike riding and equipment to try and list them all here, but there is lots of expertise in the club!

During the summer we have short ride and run sessions on Tuesday evenings.

Swimming

During the warmer months we swim from the Bassenthwaite sailing club.  These are not coached sessions, but a good chance to acclimatise to open water in the company of others.
